Garland Volunteer Firefighter killed in car accident

A volunteer firefighter died in a car accident on Holly Grove Road Wednesday. 

According to the report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 28-year-old Michael Wolfe died when the 1991 GMC he was driving hit an embankment while he was negotiating a turn near Pisgah Road.

In addition to being a volunteer with the Garland Volunteer Fire Department, he was a member of Agape Outreach Ministries, Cowboy Church in Mason and was employed with Gibson Paving. 

He leaves his daughter, Averee Benham of Millington; his parents Chris and Adrianna Wolfe of Covington; his sisters Shirley (Brett) Vanstory of Braden and Amber (Bubba) Gay of Garland; his brothers Wayne (Jessica) Wolfe of Garland and John (Heather) Wolfe of Covington; and seven nieces and nephews. 

The services for Mr. Wolfe will be held on Monday, July 29 at 2 p.m at the Maley-Yarbrough Chapel. Interment will follow in Walton Cemetery.
