The Town of Brighton is expected to sign a contract Thursday to allow volunteers to run its baseball program.

The league, which will be affiliated with the West Tennessee Baseball organization, will host ages 3-19, approximately 90 players and at least eight teams.

Brighton and the volunteer organization will finalize the contract at a special called meeting at 6 p.m. Cost for players is $85 for the first player and $75 for subsequent players in the same family.

The all-volunteer board will be led by Monty Temple.

“Our goal is to keep the kids on the field and keep them out of trouble,” Temple said. “It keeps our community safe and keeps our community together.”

The final day to sign up is this Friday, March 22 at 6 p.m. Please contact Monty Temple at (615) 708-9614. Opening ceremonies are set for Saturday, April 13 at Brighton’s baseball complex.
